In a bid to further enhance university-enterprise collaboration and drive deeper integration of industry and education, Professor Lu Xiaohua from the School of Chemical Engineering at Nanjing Tech University, along with his delegation, visited KAPSOM on September 9, 2024. The two parties held in-depth discussions on talent cultivation, technological research and development, and project cooperation, with a particular focus on green ammonia systems, hydrogen storage, energy storage, and the economic and technical feasibility of these solutions.
Profile of Professor Lu Xiaohua
Professor Lu Xiaohua is a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Materials-Oriented Chemical Engineering at Nanjing Tech University, a PhD supervisor, and the vice chair of the university’s Academic Committee. He is a Fellow of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, a leader of the Ministry of Education’s innovation team in “Materials Chemistry and Engineering,” a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and the chief scientist of China’s national “973” project. He has also been honored as a Humboldt Scholar in Germany, a National Model Worker in Education, and a recipient of the State Council’s “Government Special Allowance.”
Professor Lu’s research focuses on chemical thermodynamics and mesoscopic interface phenomena, with contributions in guiding the preparation and application of mesoporous materials. He has authored over 500 papers, received six national and provincial science and technology awards, and holds 52 invention patents.

Both sides agreed that green ammonia technology holds significant potential for driving energy transition and achieving carbon neutrality goals, and will play a pivotal role in the global energy market in the future.
This meeting strengthened the mutual understanding between KAPSOM and Nanjing Tech University’s School of Chemical Engineering, laying a solid foundation for future collaborations in industry-academia integration and technological innovation. Moving forward, the two sides will continue to maintain close communication, actively explore cooperative models for joint talent cultivation, and leverage their respective strengths to build a new industry-academia partnership.
